Celebrating IND or the International Nurses Day

international nurses day, IND
International Nurses Week (IND) is celebrated around the world 6 to 12 May. This day was celebrated to remind all nurses valuable contributions to society. International Council of Nurses (ICN) has celebrated this day in 1965. In 1953 Dorothy Sutherland, an official U.S. Health, Education and Welfare, had proposed that then-President Dwight D. Eisenhower declared "Nurses Day", but he does not accept it. [1] In January 1974 it was decided to celebrate on May 12 because it is the birthday of Florence Nightingale, who is widely considered the founder of modern nursing. Each year, ICN prepares and distributes International Nurses Day Kit. The kit contains educational and public information materials for nurses worldwide.
